Be Careful When You Are 40 Years Old (Especially for Muslims)

The life of the world is a temporary pleasure and a joyful joke. But, many people whose age has reached the age of 40 years and over, but are still too busy with their worldly affairs.

Not yet moved his heart to prepare provisions for the Hereafter. Age is old, but still too busy with business matters, increasing wealth, women, and pursuing power (like some officials).

So, be careful when you are over 40 years old, are you ready enough to bring provision of charity?

Be Careful When You Are 40 Years Old (Especially for Muslims)

There are even some parents who are in their 60s and 70s but are still thinking about the affairs of their luxury car, their garden, their livestock, their possessions, and the cases of their children and grandchildren.

If you have advanced age (60-70 years), yes it would be better to fill it with deepening religious knowledge. Like; listening to religious studies, always praying in congregation in the mosque, going to the Hajj, Umrah and all the other services.

About looking for property and business for children/grandchildren, let them take care of themselves. After all, our children are of course grown up and have their income. Usually, they already have 1-2 children, and have entered adulthood (40 years), also have an established profession.

Thus, of course, they should be able to manage and finance the needs of themselves and their children (which sure is your grandson). So ... after being in old age, don't let you take care of everything. Let them (our children) take care of their families.

On the other side, some things become individual notes for those of us who are entering the age of 40 and already married. That is, let us pay attention to both parents who are elderly (aged 60-70 years).

Love our parents, ask for their blessings, and treat them as well as possible.

As God commands in the following words:

ووصينا الإنسان بوالديه إحسانا حملته أمه كرها ووضعته كرها وحمله وفصاله ثلاثون شهرا حتى إذا بلغ أشده وبلغ أربعين سنة قال رب أوزعني أن أشكر نعمتك التي أنعمت علي وعلى والدي وأن أعمل صالحا ترضاه وأصلح لي في ذريتي إني تبت إليك وإني من المسلمين

"We instruct humans to do good to their parents, their mothers with hard labor and give birth with difficulty (too).

Containing it until weaning is thirty months so that when he is mature and up to forty years old, he prays:

"My Lord, show me to be grateful for Your blessings that You have given me and to my father's mother, and so that I can do righteous deeds You are pleased; provide me with kindness with (giving goodness) to my grandchildren. Lord! I repent unto you, and admittedly I am among those who surrender. (Surah AL AHQAF verse 15)

So, be place the family function in the portion and their respective duties.

Therefore, a child who is an adult (and has a family) should not be troublesome to his elderly parents. Let our parents rest, enjoy old age, and diligently worship to prepare for the afterlife. And may Allah always give guidance to us, Aammiin.

However, sometimes some cases are quite strange. What happens? I.e., due to the temptation of the life of the world with all kinds of variety.

What is that?

That is what happens to some people who are already old (50, 60 or 70 years), but strangely he feels like he is just a young teen. Tends to indulge in lust that continues to ignite, even though wrinkles on the forehead and gray hair on the head have begun to spread evenly.

Never thinking about the afterlife, but instead, are busy looking for the forbidden love on the outside whereas households with halal wives are left to mess. Naudzubillah min dzalik. May we all be avoided from such behavior.

Another case, some are already 40 years old and feel their bodies are still healthy and fit. But unfortunately, the healthy pleasures that have been given by God did not make him grateful but instead made him negligent. He considers his death still far away, and always postpones worship. Even though a lot is happening in reality, that is, the person in the morning is still in good shape, eh the night is gone (death).

Death can come at any time unexpectedly, and not infrequently death comes to people who are still young.

That is an example of people who lose because of being deceived by their desires.

Worldly jewelry (wealth, women, power and children) indeed deceives. Tends to make people neglect to worship God. Even lust often misleads most humans. Indeed, the desire will never feel old. Hope will always be young and continue to be passionate. That exactly be aging is the function of our body as humans who live in the mortal realm.

The world is only temporary, and all humans will surely die. But unfortunately, many humans ignore the signs of death that exist in their bodies.

What are the signs? Namely gray hair, skin that begins to wrinkle and diminished body functions.

Indeed, life in the world is very short.

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam once said:

"The people Muslims age is between 60 and 70 years. And only a few can surpass that age. " [HR. Ibn Majah: 4236].

Why is the age of humans in the world very short?

Because when compared with the time during the barzakh (grave), even life later in the hereafter, then the time to live in this world is nothing.

How long is our time in barzakh (grave)? Namely until the Day of Judgment arrives. And finally, we are raised from the grave.

The question: How long does it take until the Day of Judgment comes? The answer; it could be in the hundreds of thousands, millions, and even billions of years. That is, a very long time compared to the life of the world which is only around 60-70 years — moreover when compared to the hereafter that is eternal forever.

Therefore, it is very fortunate for people who can understand the nature of world life.

Namely; those who have never wasted their time with things that are not useful, and use the rest of their lives to worship Allah Ta'ala.

The True Word of God in Surat Al-'Asr:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
وَالْعَصْرِۙ
wal-'aṣr
For the sake of time,

اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ لَفِيْ خُسْرٍۙ
innal-insāna lafī khusr
Humans are in a loss,

اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ ەۙ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ
illallażīna āmanụ wa 'amiluṣ-ṣāliḥāti wa tawāṣau bil-ḥaqqi wa tawāṣau biṣ-ṣabr
Except those who believe and do good and exhort one another for the truth and advise in patience.

O all friends,,,, have you prepared charity for your hereafter?

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala give guidance to all of us, Aammiin.
